Sarah Who? The slipper didn't fit the princess from Alaska and now she is pissed! The "pit bull" from Wasilla is looking less attractive with each passing day. She has single handedly turned little Katie Couric into a ruthless,cutthroat,muckraking reporter who ambushed her and derailed her rise to one of the top posts in the land simply by asking her a seemingly innocuous question about her reading habits. She stammered like an idiot after being beaned by a simple softball question. Now in an effort to show her true conservative bonefides, she rails against the "media elite" and for good measure the "bored,pathetic bloggers". Like most conservatives what she really hates are independent thinkers. If you have learned how to think instead of what to think, you can see through the smoke screen that conservatives put forth in lieu of meaningful public policy and that always infuriates people of her ilk. If they can keep the so called "values voters" enraged by obfuscating the truth and spreading mis-information about social issues they can keep us divided and help insure their own continued existence. If on the other hand progressive thinking people are elected to lead this country, there is a chance we will begin to solve some of the issues that divide us and become a more perfect union like we are supposed to.

Sometimes I watch Tucker Carlson just to laugh at his "insight".Today he and some other toadies were trying to scare the people at home by alluding to the horrors of a Hillary presidency. Looking back on what I wrote last year, I was right more often than not. I hope the trend continues and conservative politician becomes a thing of the past. We need to think. We don't need clowns with their heads stuck in the 50's, 1850's or 1950's. A hundred years of history didn't teach them a thing. Their answer for everything is build more prisons. I watched part of a republican debate last night. It seemed they were trying to "out creep" each other. I'm not a partisan but its clear to me that party has nothing to offer a guy like me. They cheapen America with their acquiescence of torture. They should all be renditioned in an extraordinary way. I just wonder how W will do once he is delegated to the dust bin of history. Talk about having no transferable skills, this guy couldn't cut it if he had to find a real job.

I would like to thank each and every one of you who voted to remove Republicans from office. I knew a lot about the Bush's before he was first elected and could not fathom why anyone would want to give him the keys to the kingdom. As he has all his life, he screwed everything up and now daddy's friends are trying to help him create some kind of legacy. There seems no doubt now that he is the worst president ever. I wonder if Rumsfelds termination is part of an agreement between Pelosi and Bush to quash impeachment proceedings. Thanks again for voting to change the future of America.

I have to say I was not impressed with Dallas. The heat is not the only thing that makes Dallas uncool. The summit was a success though. To see the entire organization from the top down swilling beer and partying down is inspirational. My company knows how to party. The plans are already being developed for the next party in Feb. or March. We stayed at the Hyatt Regency in DFW. I would not recommend it to others. You can't smoke in the bar and pool is 7 or 8 dollars for a half hour. Where I come from the challenger pays for the game. I just got distracted by a commercial for "girls gone wild", all those hot little honeys whipping out their titties floors me every time. Whew

I'm watching Ann Coulter on Book TV. What a piece of work. If this woman actually believes what she says, she needs psychological help and fast. She said Fox News is not very conservative. She said liberals were only behind the war on terror for two weeks. I am the most liberal person I know and believe me I would kick some ass in a minute. I think the most disturbing aspect of her talk{if I can only pick one}, is the pretty young women in the audience soaking up this drivel, some of it reinforcing falsehoods in their still developing minds. Now she's wishing for one more right-winger on the Supreme Court. This event is being held at the Clare Boothe Luce policy Institute. I guess some people aren't too particular about who they associate with. She says conservatives have more sex than liberals. In particular conservative christians. That sounds odd to me, why have so much sex if you are so appalled by it. She calls the New York Times the enemy playbook. I'm anxious to read John Deans new book. He has uncovered some research into conservative mindsets that are very revealing. Sad to see so many young women being led astray.

I have a hole in my life where my library used to be. For decades I have read and collected hundreds of books. I enjoyed non fiction the most and had quite a collection of old atlas's and science books. Many of my books were over a hundred years old and quite rare. Often when I needed comfort I found it in my books. Due to downturns in my finances{unemployment or under employment},I ended up losing my home and putting all my stuff in a storage unit. I scrambled for two years trying to make my storage fee and my truck payment. To make a long story short I was able to keep the truck but the storage people snuck an over due bill past me and seized my stuff. I had counted my books when I packed them and found that I had five hundred fifty seven of them. I've lost many things over time but this one hurts a lot.

I have to admit I've been leery of posting lately. We were once guaranteed the right to free speech by the 1st. Amendment to the constitution, the linchpin of the bill of rights. Now the wrong bumper sticker on your car will get you arrested and fired from your job. If we stand by and let this administration run rough shod over the NY Times then the great American experiment will be over. The real truth must come out and the sooner the better. This administration has brought nothing but shame to America in the eyes of the world. Our position as self professed Leader of the free world is at stake. Soon other nations will dictate what happens on a global scale. I predict a gradual but irreversible decline if this country continues to elect conservative leaders.

Well I visited Chicago on business for a week last month, and while I was there me and a few co-workers went to a strip club there. I was completely underwhelmed. They had a lot of women walking around seeking private time at 25.00 for 5 minutes. The dancers did not strip at all. You were encouraged to pay for a private viewing to even see their titties. Playboy magazine said a few months ago that WV has more strip joints per. Capita. than any other state. If you come to WV, you must check out our clubs. You will see naked women and it wont cost you an arm and a leg to see some tits and ass.

The only thing that makes sense is that Dick was hammered and had to sober up before facing the police. He admitted that he had a " beer". What if he also polished off a fifth of scotch and a few of Rush Limbaugh's oxyconton. If you or I had done this the police would be on us big time. Also what a bush league thing to do [pun intended], I learned as a small boy not to fire a gun unless you knew exactly where the projectile was going to stop. Many states require anyone guilty of shooting someone in the act of hunting to surrender their hunting licenses for a year. Usually its an inexperienced hunter or an intoxicated hunter. Black Appreciation Month

With Martin Luther King Day now in the rearview mirror its time to look forward to our next opportunity to bond with our black brothers and sisters. Lets change Black History Month into Black Appreciation Month. Instead of paying homage to one man's dream on one day, lets show real appreciation for the huge economic advantage that slavery provided our country for centuries. We could pay reparations for the debt we most certainly owe, or we could start reaching out to include black people in our everyday lives. I once worked for one of WV's largest employers, I could count on one hand(with fingers left over} the number of blacks employed in the field. You must give a man an opportunity to work before you say he will not work. What if for a month we take the time to find our similarities instead of focusing on perceived differences? Invite the black family down the street to your next bbq. Next time the black guy down the block is working on his car, bring your tools and offer to help. Take the black lady from work{chances are there's only one} to lunch, invite her to join your book club or bake sale. If decades ago we had taken this approach relations between the races would be stronger.

Is anyone out there watching Big East basketball? Have you seen a WVU game? Mike Gansey is the next Larry Bird. Taken together this team is for real. A 1-3-1 defense that handcuffs even experienced teams. These guys are cool under pressure and are getting better at hanging on to a lead in close games. Pitsnogle and Gansey both put up 30 on a good Marquette team. Look out UCLA here we come. When this team is hitting on all cylinders they can hang 100 on anybody including Duke.

I live in an area with a lot of deer running around. Recently I've had a few close calls with deer on the highway. I had a dream in which my lady and myself were driving along when she yelled "look a deer". When I looked over the deer looked at us and I said " that's no deer that's Donald Rumsfeld". I swear that deer had the face of Rumsfeld. I woke up immediately and remembered the dream vividly. I don't know if Rumsfeld's ineptitude is analogous to deer running out in front of moving vehicles, but clearly in my sub-conscious mind there is a similarity.

I'm waiting for Ralph Reed, Grover Norquist, Tom DeLay,Bill Frist, and a cast of republicans and religious leaders too numerous to mention to stand there in court and face the music. Who is hurting America now? Its obvious that money meant more than the god they claimed to hold so dearly. Can they still claim moral superiority over liberals? I think not. On a lighter note The West Virginia Mountaineer football team won the Sugar Bowl. How sweet it is. I predict they will be No.1 in the country soon.

Every year around Christmas time a friend of mine who owns a bar has a big party with free food and drinks for four hours. The food is always excellent and the liquor flows freely. Today I only had one shot of tequila instead of 5 or 6. Although I love to party with old friends, I'm kinda proud of myself for not getting too wasted. I think maybe I'm growing up. At forty six I still feel like a twenty year old. As a matter of fact just give me two of them.

I guess I'll post on torture again, it seems other people are not as outraged about this as I am. I cannot fathom how anyone can justify torture in the 21st century. I thought Saddam was bad. America is supposed to be above reproach in all matters moral and ethical. And don't be fooled by terms like "extraordinary renditions", if you deliver someone to be tortured you are just as guilty as if you did it yourself. We used to lead the world in trying to stop torture. I guess those reports about the CIA teaching torture techniques in Latin America in the 80's are true. Can you export democracy and torture simultaneously? I don't think so. I noticed Saddams trial is still moving along slowly. He pitches a fit and walks out every day. Why not bind and gag him like they did Bobby Seal in Chicago. I would have thought Saddams defense team would call Donald Rumsfeld as a character reference. We've all seen the pictures of them smiling and shaking hands back when Reagan was president. I want to hear about the old days when Saddam was our ally. About how he got his precursors for his chemical weapons from the Reagan administration. Why are the last two Gulf Wars not compared and contrasted? It seems to me that lessons from the first one should have been applied to the current one. I thought at the time we should have marched into Baghdad during the first Gulf War. My enthusiasm for war has cooled quite a bit since I've gotten older and developed a better understanding of mankinds propensity for destruction.

Evidence is trickling in every day highlighting the corruption deeply ingrained in the Republican party. Prominent party leaders and many of their underlings have their panties in a wad trying to decide whether to lie to the various courts of inquiry they are facing. Jack Abramoff is trying to decide who or what to give up. Testify truthfully about his dealings with Tom DeLay, or lose his freedom on perjury charges. Even the indominable Dick Cheney has to be worried about the consequences of his actions, perhaps for the first time in his life. Just wait and see what happens when the truth comes out about our torturing practices. You can't change established law on a whim. With republicans in charge, America is losing the respect of the civilized world.

I seem to be emerging from the fog of flu. The last eight or nine days have been a blurr. I just laughed out loud for the first time in days. Only hours ago I was wondering if I was doomed to live forever with that fucking flu. I could feel the virus racing through my system. I think I understand my laptop on a whole new level. There are several free programs that scan for viruses and such. Wish I had one for humans.

I used to think we should be tolerant of those who disagreed with us. Now things have changed so much that I find myself with no tolerance for intolerant people. Many people on the right have a fanatical hatred for liberals. I think conservatism is the bane of our existence now. To me conservatism is the iceberg, progress the Titanic. These narrow minded zealots will excuse any screwup and deny any wrong doing on the administrations part. Limbaugh said recently that democrats can't win an election so they go after conservatives in court. The truth is that they are so corrupt and so greedy that they wind up in court when they are caught committing crimes. Keep on watching the Abramoff case. That sob has ties to every major republican in office.

I just read Molly Ivan's column in the Charleston Gazette online. She's good. The last part really sums up the way I feel when I see el presidente on TV. What a jackass. Molly says that Haliburton received 9 billion in contracts for Iraq. I read the other day that Haliburton gets 52% of all the money spent in Iraq. Most sources put the total figure at over 180 billion. If that's true that makes 90 billion give or take a billion or two. Only in America.

United What

I've been wondering lately why do Americans hate the U.N. If the "United States" is such a good idea then the "United Nations" should also be a good idea. If being "United" is as meaningful as the word implies, then we should all strive to be united. But people the world over have been united behind charismatic leaders with bad intentions. Today Bush spoke to the U.N., this time instead of haranguing other leaders and threatening sanctions against everyone he had a conciliatory tone. In a great show of world community, many other countries contributed to America's hurricane ravaged south. Even Iraq contributed a million dollars. I hope this terrible event will open the hearts and minds of at least a few of the hard core conservatives in the south. Desperation has a way of changing people, sometimes for the better. I've seen what happens to hard-ass know-it-all people who are suddenly faced with death. I once worked with such a person who changed completely after a heart attack.

It seems clear that the days of democracy are over for America. The hard liners in this country have a firm grip on all aspects of our life. Huge media conglomerates tell us everything they want us to know. As a matter of fact they are complicit in the perpetration of a fraud. Although we claim to practice a free-market economy the truth is we give huge subsidies to many different industries. Take for example the most recent energy bill. In it there were billions for the oil and gas industry even though they have made record profits and will continue to for many years to come. Soon the Chinese will demand more fuel for their Godzilla economy and the wealthy will be buying and hoarding gasoline. There is an finite supply, it will run out sooner than we think. Electric cars now, hydrogen cars as soon as possible. The fraud goes on in places like KPMG where they sold tax shelters other wise known as tax avoidance schemes. The super rich would pay for a slip of paper that allowed them to claim tax exemptions they were not entitled to. Business was booming. When these guys in business and politics mix with lawyers soon the average citizen is screwed. Just follow the money with people like Tom DeLay,Jack Abramoff,Ralph Reed etc..., if you really want to learn about big time religon look into the business practices of Pat Robertson. He and his ilk will do anything for money.

Hurricane Katrina's aftermath keeps getting worse. More people are beginning to talk about body's lying around. Imagine the destruction if all those people had not evacuated. It seems that Bush was shaken by the looters, no doubt he stayed up all night watching Fox news. No he goes to bed before 9 even while he's on vacation. All 350 days of it. His work ethic is underwhelming much like the rest of him, he obviously didn't get where he has by merit. Mediocre is not lame enough to define his presidency but with a disaster not completely his fault to take the heat off of his war,he can now go back on vacation.I personally like his statement saying " if you don't need gas don't buy it" spoken like a person who never paid to fill up his own tank, ever. How did such a weenie ever get such a strong following? His supporters are adamant they don't care what he does or doesn't do they wholeheartedly support him. Its kinda creepy if you think about it. He's not a spellbinding speaker. He hasn't set some kind of heroic standard. Those pictures in the flight suit, he was just playing dress up. His only claim to fame is his devout religion. Which by the way comes in handy if you want to start a religious war.

Kicking the can with the ex-con

This is a story I wrote a few days ago. I've always been kinda crazy. Not dangerous crazy, more like quiet crazy. Since I've never been big and loud I often find myself diametrically opposed to big and loud people. One such person was an excon I'll call Tommy who liked to try to scare younger people. He was in his late 20's or early 30's I was about 17 then. At a large party in the hood Tommy declared that he could do more one handed pushups than anyone there. Like I said I'm quiet but kinda crazy. I took up the challenge and beat him easily. Being humbled by a kid didn't sit well with Tommy. He challenged me to a beer can kicking contest in front of everyone there. He wanted me to put up$50.00 against his .38 special revolver. I convinced him to do it for$20.00 and the bet was on. With 30 to 40 people looking on we squared off in the back yard. After much grandstanding and boasting Tommy kicked his can about 10 feet away. I knew I could beat that and no amount of tauting was going to stop me. I kicked my can three times as far as he did and won the bet. Grudgingly Tommy emptied the shells from his pistol and handed it over. I excused myself to the restroom to examine my prize. Soon Tommy was knocking at the door wanting to bet an old uzi machine gun with a broken stock for a chance to get back his .38. I declined. He then offered me the use of his woman for an hour if I would give back the pistol. While he and his woman ironed out the terms of the deal I slipped quietly from the party and disappeared into the night. I kept a low profile for a few days. I don't know why he wanted that damn pistol back. It was a piece of shit gun that sprayed lead into the face of the person dumb enough to shoot it. Last I heard of Tommy he died of a drug overdose.

How I earn a buck

I work for a large company{about 4 thousand employees nation wide}. We assemble large products that may be too time consuming for the buyers to put together. One of our largest clients is a major home improvement outlet. I have worked for this company for several months. In that time,every thing that I have assembled has been made in China. A few days ago I actually built something that was made somewhere besides China. It was a snow blower made in Canada. If we don't at least try to have a manufacturing base we won't be able to protect ourselves when China comes to call. America is getting weaker every day.

I like to watch c-span's morning show. They allow people to call in and comment on different subjects every day. Its nice when someone calls in that obviously has done some thinking about a particular issue. It used to amuse me when conservatives would call in. Now I'm disgusted with them. I do not consider myself to be a partisan. If either party is screwing around the populous I want the people involved to be exposed and punished. These Bush apologists are like sheep or lemmings they blindly follow their leader, every idiotic policy he comes up with is fine with them. You have to wonder about the sexual proclivities of people who get so worked up about gays getting married. Just live and let live. If these people want to preserve the sanctity of marriage they should take the profit out of divorce. Unless there is domestic violence involved whoever files should not get half of everything. I have been married twice and both times the women were able to take everything I had. I am a easy going guy and I never tried to take anything that didn't belong to me. Both of these women only married me because I had a good job. They both also went through my money like they earned it. But I digress I was bitching about conservatives. I even bought a power inverter so I can get my e-mails from anywhere that wireless service is available. Sometimes I'll get the computer ready and pull into a place that advertises wireless. In two clicks your online. I did read the other day that someone got busted in Europe for using his neighbors signal. Any day now they will start nailing us here.
